Priestly Ordination of future Pope – video

I found this extraordinary video documenting priestly ordination of 40 deacons on 29 June 1951 in the Freising Cathedral by his Eminence Michael Cardinal von Faulhaber. Among the 44 deacons there is Joseph Ratzinger and his brother Georg. You can see clearly young father Joseph during the procession - 04:53.

Enjoy!!

Allow me to fight for thee, holy Virgin

Dignare me pugnare pro Te, virgo sacrata.
Et da mihi virtutem contra hostes tuos.
Allow me to fight for thee, holy Virgin.
Give me strength against thy enemies.

This not the most beautiful church is the shrine of Our Immaculate Lady from Victory. Where is always number of people praying that makes this place extraordinary. The church is staffed by the diocesan priests and as well the priests from the nearby seminary of the Fraternity of Saint Peter.

Jesus of Nazareth

I found today a new book of Pope Benedict 'Jesus from Nazareth' in german.
On the same shelf was displayed a book of Hans Küng ‘Can the Church still be saved?’.
Our Lord said to Peter ‘I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not:
and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren’.
So does also Peter of our times, strengthen us in faith.

In Annuntiatione Beatae Mariae Virginis

In I Nocturno

R. Receive, O Virgin Mary, receive the word of the Lord, which is sent thee by His Angel thou shalt conceive, and shalt bring forth God and Man together.
* And thou shalt be called blessed among all women.
V. Thou shalt bring forth a son, and remain a maiden undefiled thou shalt conceive and be a Mother, still Virgin unspotted.
R. And thou shalt be called blessed among all women.
V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.
R. And thou shalt be called blessed among all women.

'A salutary remedy to the human race'

Some people may think that drinking beer is not a good custom for a Catholic.
However our Holy Mother Church provides even a special blessing for that occasion:

BENEDICTIO CEREVISIÆ
Rituale Romanum 1925

V. Adjutorium nostrum in nomine Domini.
R. Qui fecit caelum et terram.

V. Dominus vobiscum.
R. Et cum spiritu tuo.

Oremus.

R. Amen.

Et aspergatur aqua benedicta.
V. Our help is in the name of the Lord.
R. Who made heaven and earth.

V. The Lord be with you.
R. And with thy spirit.

Let us pray.

Bless, + O Lord, this creature beer, which thou hast deigned to produce from the fat of grain: that it may be a salutary remedy to the human race, and grant through the invocation of thy holy name; that, whoever shall drink it, may gain health in body and peace in soul. Through Christ our Lord.

R. Amen.

And it is sprinkled with holy water.
