John Sonnenon on his blog has posted extremely interesting photos of the forgotten treasuries from the papal Mass. One thing for me is worth to highlight: a bird cage.
It was probably used during canonization Masses at the Offertory, as described HERE:
‘If the occasion of the Mass should be a canonization, candles, bread, wine, water, young turtle-doves and two other small birds are offered to the Pontiff after the Creed’.
