Prudentes Virgines

Corpus Christi Procession, Warsaw a.D. 1957

Adducentur Regi virgines post eam: proximae eius afferentur tibi in laetitia.
Specie tua, et pulchritudine tua intende, prospere procede, et regna.
After her shall virgins be brought to the King: her neighbors shall be brought to Thee with gladness.
With thy comeliness and thy beauty set out, proceed prosperously, and reign.

Hello you there !

I'm from Brazil, and I would like to thank you very much for inspiring us through these images you post. They are sublime. There´s nothing more beautiful than seeing these religious. These pictures are capable of enriching one's soul, maybe more than a thousand espiritual words of some writers.

May God bless you through the intercession of Our Lady Aparecida.

Both of my mother's sisters were Sisters of Charity and wore the cornet as in the first photo. I have many fond memories of both in their habits... Now, they look like uneducated, uncultured women in their polyester suits. Tragic. One of my Aunts became the Director of Catholic Charities in NY. No doubt, Joan Chittister would tell me how "oppressed" she was...
