How to pray the Divine Office?

MARIA

Ante Deum stantes ne sitis mente vagantes, si cor non orat, in vanum lingua laborat.
Anyone can translate it into nice English?
Update:
Before God standing, don't be your minds wandering. If the heart doesn't pray
in vain the tongue works.
Thank you Guilherme.

Offertory at Canonization Mass

John Sonnenon on his blog has posted extremely interesting photos of the forgotten treasuries from the papal Mass. One thing for me is worth to highlight: a bird cage.
It was probably used during canonization Masses at the Offertory, as described HERE:

‘If the occasion of the Mass should be a canonization, candles, bread, wine, water, young turtle-doves and two other small birds are offered to the Pontiff after the Creed’.

King Bolesław killing the bishop during Holy Mass

Silver sarcophagus of St. Stanislaus in the Wawel Cathedra

Saint Stanislaus of Szczepanów (of Kraków), bishop and martyr, died at Kraków on 8 May, 1079. His feast is celebrated on 7 May in Roman Martyrology, but on 8 May in Kraków, which has a special feast of the translation of his relics on 27 September He is a main patron of Poland and the city and Diocese of Kraków. Bishop Stanislaus had several serious disputes with the king Bolesław. He spared neither tears nor prayers and admonitions to bring the king to lead a more Christian life. All being in vain, Boleslaw was excommunicated and the canons of the cathedral were instructed to discontinue the Divine Offices in case the king should attempt to enter. King Bolesław sent his men to execute Bishop Stanisław without trial, but that when they dared not touch the Bishop, the King decided to kill the traitor himself. He has slain Stanisław while he was celebrating Mass in the Skałka outside the walls of Kraków.

Sancte Stanislae, ora pro nobis

Where was St. Stanislaus martyred?

Skałka which means "a small rock" in Polish, is a small hillock in Kraków where the Bishop of Krakow saint Stanislaus of Szczepanów was slain by order of Polish king Bolesław II the Bold in 1079.

May in Poland - the Month of the Blessed Virgin Mary

In most churches in Poland you can easily find the May Devotion to Our Lady. People sing the Litany of Loreto in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

But in the countryside you can still find more traditional form of this devotion outside in front of the Street-Shrines. When you drive a car in the late afternoon across little villages you see group of people in front of these little chapels, crosses or statues singing the Litany to Our Lady.

Make it popular in the whole Catholic World. It is beautiful testimony of our faith and love to Our Lady.

Candy after Solemn Celebration

There is a tradition in Poland that after a big, long solemn celebrations (like pilgrimages, processions, churches’ consecrations) there is a small market where parents can buy some sweets or small gifts for their kids. This is some kind of reward for being brave during the celebration.
